Will the screen create a seal on the patio?

There are many materials and factors that make it difficult to “create a seal”. Most patios are not level, and of course homes with stucco have uneven surfaces.

Do MagnaTrack® Screens seal my patio?

No they do not. Blue Sky Patio Shades uses heavy weather resistant foam to prevent as many light gaps as possible, however fully sealing your patio with MT is not possible.

How much wind can MagnaTrack® handle?

40 miles an hour sustained winds. Typically you can leave your MagnaTrack® screens down during Non Monsoon winds, however common sense should apply. We are in effect creating shade walls and the larger the span of your screens, the better the chance they could be damaged in unexpected winds. NEVER engage your screens during heavy winds. Doing so can cause unnecessary service calls and would not be warranted,

Why does my fabric have wrinkles or puckering on the sides?

All fabric wrinkles and puckers. It is to be expected and will vary depending on time of year and heat exposure. It is also necessary for MT to perform as designed as the fabric has to be flexible in the tracks. Never forget, the purpose of your shades is to shade your patio.

What about my HOA?

We will always assist you with your HOA by providing you with whatever they require. There are countless variables in HOA requirements however and it is the homeowners responsibility to know/understand/comply with your specific HOA requirements.

How large of an opening can MagnaTrack® cover?

30’ in width with one screen in a continuous run up to 16’ in height.

Do I need a Wind/Sun Sensor?

With MagnaTrack® only if your HOA requires it then it will be required. This is outdated technology only required in older zip screen/cable screen models. MagnaTrack® does not need it and can be controlled by WIFI

Can I control my screens with WIFI?

Yes, a Wifi integration is available at a very reasonable cost.

Can I leave my pets inside my patio with the screens down?

Pets can be left inside with reasonable safety and it would be exceptionally rare that they would damage the screens/outside animal would damage the screens, but be aware it can happen and would not be warranted.

What if the screens hit my pets or children?

If the screens hit animals/children/patio furniture, it will not automatically stop. After 3 attempts the screen will stop and require a service call. Always be diligent when engaging your screens as this service call is 100% preventable.

Can I use my MT screens as a security screen?

Although they can be modified to a stronger screen at additional cost,they are not recommended for this purpose and should not be used as such. MT screens are primarily made for sun/wind protection and not made to stop objects/people or animals. NEVER use them as protection from your pool/spa.
